When starting a new health and fitness plan there are several things that someone should consider purchasing to ensure that they are able to effectively eat correctly and workout safely.
{1} Appropriate workout attire:
NO you do not have to purchase expensive workout clothing, shoes, or other athletic gear. BUT it is important that you wear something comfortable, breathable, and easy to move around in. I have found several places to go to find cheap and durable workout clothes. You should also consider getting a good gym towel, gym bag, and sturdy water bottle.
Another important artifact that is needed are a good pair of running shoes. There are many different brands that you can choose from. There are shoes by Asics and Nike Running Shoes. The key is to do your own research and find out what type of shoe will work the best for the athletic activities you intent to engage in. There are certain shoes for certain activities. If you plan on running a lot it is suggested you get running shoes. If you plan on lifting heavy weights or participating in Cross-Fit they have shoes for those activities as well. You HAVE to do your own research and figure out what will work for your fitness needs
{2} Appropriate workout:
You should know what you want to do BEFORE you get into the gym. You should type or write down your workout so you will know what you want to do when you get there. It is best to try to target certain muscle groups on certain days. There is nothing wrong with doing a full body workout when you are in the gym, but you may get more out of your workout if you target certain areas on certain days (ie. Arm day, leg day, etc).
{3} Appropriate Goals:
When starting your health and fitness journey you have to set realistic goals. You have to know what your main goals are and how you plan on reaching them. You have to also set mini goals that you can accomplish to help you stay on the path to reaching your bigger goals.
There are many things that have to be taken into consideration when planning out ways to reach your health and fitness goals. The more you plan for it, the more organized and prepared you will be to achieve your goals! You also have to remember to be patient, stay dedicated, and keep working hard. The results will NOT happen over night. It will take some time. The results will come faster if you stay consistent with your workouts and eating healthy. The more you get off track and have to start over the longer it will take you to reach your goals.
