…The power of Supplements and Oils…

When speaking with clients and friends I often get asked what types of vitamins/supplements/oils that I may use.  It is true that it is suggested that you use some essential vitamins/oils to help ensure that you are providing your body the proper building blocks it needs to function before, after, and in between your meals.   When starting a new health and fitness journal, there are some essential vitamins and oils that you should incorporate into your diet.

Multivitamin:

The concept of multivitamins has always had a positive/negative outlook.  Sometimes it is hard for us to get ALL of the  nutrients needed in our daily diet. Are you getting enough calcium? Iron? or how about potassium?  Do you track how much is included in each portion of food that you eat?  Well I am guessing that most people DO NOT do this so the best way to correct this…take a multivitamin!

Multivitamins are relatively inexpensive.   Most drug stores, Wal-Mart  Targets, and even dollar chain stores carry some form of a multivitamin.  You do not have to spend a ton of money on a multivitamin.  They have regular pills or even tasty chew able versions for those who do not like to swallow pills.

Beauty Oils

There are a TON of oils that you can use for your skin or hair benefits.  A few examples would be emu oil, peppermint oil, sesame oil, plus many other oils that can be used that can be added to your regimen to help you.  Oils can be helpful with dry skin, glossy looking hair, exfoliating properties, or other health benefits.  There are dozens of oils that are available for purchase.  You will want to do some research on which oils you would like  get to help with your target needs (like dry skin, or rashes, or simple light oils with a nice fragrance).

Cooking Oils

There are several oils that you can use to cook with .  Some oils have a higher percentage of “bad” fats in them which make them LESS healthier for you.  Even if you only use a little bit, each time you use it will add up over time.  Olive oil is a good option because it has monounsaturated fats that will  help keep “bad” LDL cholesterol at a lower level and possibly help boost the levels of “good” HDL cholesterol that is found in your blood. Extra-virgin olive oil is also high in antioxidants which have been linked to contribute to improving heart health. Canola oil is also a good option.  It does not have any real detectable flavor and can be used at high heat setting.  BUT BE CAREFUL at cooking at a high heat point! At certain heats you can destroy the health benefits that can be found in some oils.  Canola oil is good for baking and sautéing.

Other things like fish oil, and Vitamin B, C, D, and A that you can take  if you just want the added benefit of those particular  benefits.  Please feel free to check out THIS website for more in dept and RELIABLE information on vitamins that you can purchase to take.

WATER…WATER…WATER!

I can not stress enough how important it is to get enough water in your diet! You will be surprised at the added benefits you will start to experience if you exchange your favorite soda, fruit, drinks, or other high sugar/calorie drinks!  Drinking your calories away is not very beneficial when you can replace that drink with water.

I hope this article was helpful to those who had any questions about multivitamin, oils, and supplements   Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concern!

All the information in this article is my advice/suggestion.  I am in NO way suggesting that you HAVE to purchase or consume vitamins, oils, or other supplements to ensure healthy benefits.  I personally take a few natural supplements for my own desired health benefits.  Everyone should asses their own health and fitness needs and decide if taking vitamins and supplements will be beneficial for them and their health and fitness needs.
