…Wednesday WOD…

Wednesday

Wednesday for me is usually upper body day!

Some weeks I have to move my upper body and lower body days around due to my schedule but traditionally I do lower body on Tuesday, Thursday, and  Saturday.  That leaves Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for upper body.

Traditionally in more gyms you will see the bench press machines and any other upper body machines surrounded by people.  I think that some people fail to realized that they have to balance their workout with a good upper body AND lower body workout.  You do not want to be that person who has a great looking arms BUT small, slim, chicken legs!

It can be hard to determine what to do in the gym if you are a beginner.

Here are some key rules to remember:

{1} DO NOT be afraid to lift when you are at the gym.  A lot of my clients main concern was that they were afraid that “people are watching them”.  Most people who go to lift are more concerned with THEIR workout…not yours.

{2} When in doubt ask for help! If you are unsure how to use some equipment or if you need help it is always best to ask someone who is in that area or a worker at the gym to assist you.  When it comes to lifting weights it is better to be safe than hurt yourself!

{3} Have a plan!  When you get to the gym you should know what exercises you are going to do, and how many sets and reps you want to do.  This will allow you to be quick and efficient in the gym and it will also prevent you from wondering around and hoping on every machine that is at the gym.

{4} PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Re-Rack your weights!  If you take a weight off of a rack when you are done please put it back!  It helps to keep the gym area clean and tidy and it lets other weight lifters know that you are done with those weights.

These are just a few tips that can help beginners be more successful and confident when they enter into the weight room.

Weight training should be a vital part of anyone’s workout routine.  It will help sculpt and mold your body into a tight and sexy physique!

So when you hit the gym today don’t forget to Train hard! Work hard for the body you want!  It will take time BUT you will start to see the progress.
