i know that corn is a grain and that green beans are legume. just like tomatoes and peppers are not veggies either. i chose to keep the “common” vernacular for these foods because right now my goal is to help people start to do better and to allow them the baseline information to help them make positive changes in their lives. i have consulted various different peers and health educators on the foundation of how i want to provide information to my audience and i just want to keep things simple so they can better relate to the information and not confuse them. maybe when i get further with this blog i will be able to go deeper into depth on the “right and wrongs” that have been taught and preached on so much. if you would like to guest post and inform my audience of “the real” names of fruits, veggies, grains, legume, etc…i will be more than happy to post the information. thanks for stopping by! please feel free to email me if you have any other concerns!!

Corn is a grain and green beans are a legume. Neither is a vegetable and if you’re writing a nutrition blog you should know that.
